Africa Entrepreneurship and Leadership Academy

Young Africans for Opportunities (YAFO) opens application for Africa Entrepreneurship Training 2020.  This course is slated to commence on 1st April, 2020

Application ends on 20th March, 2020 and the course would commence on 1st April, 2020.

The New Africa Entrepreneurship Training is a course organized in collaboration between Young Africans for Opportunities and The NET program at the Regent University, Virginia – USA to provide adequate and requisite knowledge and entrepreneurial opportunities for the young generation in Africa. The training is a 7 week course with activities scheduled for each day of the first 5 weeks. The way to get the most out of this course is to do each activity as assigned, complete all the readings, and watch all the videos, but the real learning will take place in weeks 6 and 7 when you apply all these skills to your business. This is very much a learn by doing experience and although we believe you will learn a lot in these first 5 weeks, the most vital part of this course will be the execution of the plan in weeks 6 and 7 to make your ideas reality.

We will discuss subjects like accounting, economics, idea generation, marketing and many other things that will lead you to develop a business plan. A business plan is a guide to how your business operate and what the business is about. It is also a document you can show to potential investors, customers and suppliers. This course is going to give you a good foundation to being a successful entrepreneur. This course would not teach you everything about entrepreneurship because the entrepreneurial life comes with more learning. Entrepreneurs learn by doing, there is no substitute for experience. Successful entrepreneurs have made mistakes no matter the time invested in learning, but the key is learning from their mistakes, adapting and doing things better. In this course, there would be videos from dynamic African thinkers and entrepreneurs, reading materials on various topics, and activities and exercises that would provide an opportunity to apply knowledge from lessons. Also there will be discussions to help you talk to your fellow course members and help you to build network. Remember, Entrepreneurship is about helping others, finding what they need and how to provide those needs in a profitable way.
