The Executives of YOUNG AFRICANS for OPPORTUNITIES – KNUST do not in any way condone the actions that have caused destruction of assets and properties of the school, thus Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
As an organization that equally espouse the views of property rights, freedom and justice and as well-meaning individuals, we believe in amicable and non-violent approaches to solving issues and crisis. Property right must not be curtailed as students demonstrate. The fight for peace can be attained through many different media and we believe the best way is the one devoid of destruction.
Newton’s first law states that every object (assets or properties) will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled to change its state by the action of an external force.
It was very unfortunate, that properties have been destroyed. We solemnly support a peaceful demonstration and our voice must be heard in the wake of students’ brutality.
We entreat all students of KNUST to avoid the annihilation of properties but rather be calm to use the appropriate quarters to seek redress.
It’s our wish this never happened.
